บทคัดย่อ :
The seasonal variation of cambial activity in the branches of Shorea obtusa Wall., Pentacme suavis A. DC. and Xylia kerrii Craib and Hutch was studied. Ten
individual trees of each species were randomy selected in the dry dipterocarp forest of the Sakaerat Environmental Research Station. With the
photomicroscope, cambial activity was determined by numbering the layers of cambial zone. The seasonal variation of cambial activity of the species studied
was significantly shown. No obvious relationship was found between the cambial activity of each tree specie and the environmental factors, such as amount
of rainfall, air temperature and soil moisture. The phases of cambial activity of the tree species appears to relate to their phenologic events. The distinct
phases of S. obtusa and the indistinct phases of P. suavis were discovered in both events of new leaf formation and leaf maturity
