The literfall of dry dipterocarp forest and dry evergreen in Sakaerat and vicinity area were investigated as an important process in nutrient cycling in forest ecosystem. The litterfall of dry dipterocarp forest (DDF) and dry evergreen forest (DEF), ranged from 7.97-8.65 ton.ha .yr . DDF showed higher than DEF in amount of total litterfall because there are poor environmental factors, which effected to almost of leaf fall in dry season. Litterfall showed clearly some evidence of a peak in dry season, total litterfall showed the peak for DDF while there were high litterfall in rainy season in DEF.The leaf litter of DDF was estimated to be 5,364 kg ha yr and 4,921kg ha yr for DEF. Leaf litter of both forest types therefore constituted. approximately 62% of total litterfall. Leaf litter of DDF showed the peak in dry season. These results indicated that there are relationships between season and leaf fall in DDF. In contrast, high total amount of leaffall occurred in rainy season due to leaffall pattern of dominant species, H. ferrea. Branch fall also showed the same trend as leaf. In DEF, branch fall showed high total amount in rainy season, while they showed the peak during dry season in DDF. In case of other fractions, which composed of reproductive and unclassified parts. Higher propotion of both forest types found in rainy season because there are reproductive fractions fell down to ground floor
