An integration of all available multidisciplinary research related to the natural Biosphere of the SERS and the results of Man s activities thereon. This integrated view resulted in a presentation which could be applied directly for the improvement and up-dating of policies and methodology for forest land and rescurces management aimed at selective harvesting of mature resources on the maximun sustained yield principle and for the pragmatic approach to reafforestation programmes aimed at re-ostablishing dry evergreen and dry dipterocarp forest species of economic, modicinal, and industrial value.
